 Music.... every one knows that it is a wonderful healer of every situation in life. Music lovers like me will sing when they  are happy and also will sing when they are sad.  Wait a minute I became a music lover since a year , not really when i started learning it. Some people like to express every thing through music. I am one among them from  a year. I love to sing all the time. Luckily I was given training in music. I started learning music from age of  5 and continued it till age of 9. There after I left it because my teacher moved to another place . You could wonder why are not there any other teachers in your place. Yes there are many other teachers but  my parents felt he  is the greatest teacher so they decided not to send me to any other teachers. The greatest thing is they allowed me to practice it regularly but i did not because I was not interested. To be so frank learning music is always my parents passion not mine.   Welcome to the series of Devi Navaratri and chakra activation Maa Katyayini is the alankara done on the sixth day of Navaratri. According to the puranas she helped while killing Mahishasura. There are very lesser things known about Maa Katyayini. She is described in both Skanda Purana and in Markandeya Purana. She is also known as Adi Parashakti in Amaramoksha. According to vamana purana she is created after the anger that is originated while fighting with Mahishasura. In some puranas it is mentioned that, first for the fear of god and goddess while killing Mahishasura sage Katyaya worshipped mother durga and his daughter became Katyayini. But there is one more version that as Katyayini was the first sage to worship the sixth for of Durga so she got that name Katyayini. The meaning of name is a small energy. She created this universe with the energy she has. When this universe was not created and when it was absolutely dark she created this universe with her smile. In fact it is said in puranas that she also gave energy and light to the sun. There is one intresting story about Maa kushmanda in fact she is different from other Durga avatars.   With her smile and energy she created Mahalakshmi, Mahasarswathi and Mahakali.
