Skandamatha and Vishudda chakra

Welcome to the series of Devi Navaratri and chakra activation.

The fifth alankara that is done to Durga is Skandamata. The name itself tells everything. Skandamata mother of Skanda(karthikeya).

History of Skandamata:

The name itself represents everything. Skanda means Karthikeya and Matha means Mother. She is the mother of Skanda. She is also known as war God. It is said that she took the lead role when there was a huge fight between gods and demons. When we look at the history of Bramhacharini there we came came across a demon named Tarakasura who intelligently escaped death. But he does not know that one or other day he will be definitely killed in the hands of Shiva’s children itself. Now the time had come that son of Skandamata (karthikeya) is going to kill him. Her vehicle is lion and she will be holding his son on the lap. She is the fifth form of Navadurga avatars. She is white and she sits on lotus. She is also called padmasani

One who is selflessly devoted to her can get salvation, power, and prosperity. Illiterate person can get wisdom. That is the reason in some parts of country she is also worshipped as Sarswathi (the goddess of knowledge). The devote who worship with her keeping nothing in mind and feeling that she is everything to him she blesses him/her with whatever they needed in their life be it health, wealth whatever you needed she gives everything that you need. When you worship with her single mindedness your devotion is doubled. Do you know the reason?

The reason is you are blessed by two ultimate powers. What are those two ultimate powers...any guesses those two ultimate powers are Skanda and mata. That is the reason she became Skandamata. Here one point need to be remembered while worshipping her, the devote should be completely out of materialistic things and worldly attachment. When we get this worldly detachment by activating Anhata chakra which was described in my previous blog here I shall provide link... which will redirect you to that page which will redirect you to the previous blog...click here to get the link

Look at the magic and wonder of divine we are celebrating Devi Navaratri it is said that there are 9 chakras in the body to become a perfect person it is said that all these 9 chakras need to be activated. Each chakra in the body is governed by each form of Dura Maa. The chakra activation is done from the primary chakra which is governed by first form of Maa Dura. That is the reason our elders said that there is relation between our mentality and festivals. So mediation actually connects us to god.

Which chakra does Skandamata governs?

Vishuddha chakra is governed by Skandamata in our body. Vishuddha chakra is in blue color. What is this Vishuddha Chakra?  How it works in our body? What is its importance? What happens in the body when this chakra is activated? What happens in the body when this chakra is blocked? We shall explore.

Vishuddha chakra is the fifth chakra in the body. When this chakra is activated in the body it comes to the self expression. When this chakra is blocked in the body the person undergoes decay and death. But when this chakra is opened even the negativity can be turned into learning. The success and failures of one’s life depends on the state of this chakra. As said earlier worshipping Skandamata will give everything that is required see how beautiful connection activating this chakra and worshipping Skandamata.

Blocking this chakra leads to death of a person. This chakra mainly represents the purification. This chakra is associated with neck and throat. That is the main reason why this chakra stands for self expression. When we have good throat we can express the things easily. One can become a good orator. This is even associated with thyroid and endocrine gland in the human body. This produces hormones that are required for growth and maturity. This Vishuddha chakra blocking effects in thyroid problems and this mainly occurs because of fear to speak. Singing is a harmless and easy way to protect this chakra
